Changes from Film Review
Using all of the responses I got from my film reviews, I made some changes to my film before officially calling it complete. The first changes I made were the little things, such as spelling errors and the length of clips. Unfortunately, after editing the length of a few clips I realized my titles didn't stay consistent to the clip they were meant for. In simpler terms, when I took ten seconds off of my film all of my titles ended up ten seconds ahead. This wasn't a major obstacle, but certainly tedious to fix. I also noticed this happen to my music to. After fixing all of these minor issues I moved on to the bigger problem: the aforementioned music. This being my first time editing a film project, I had no prior experience editing music. Of course, I take all the blame for this as I should have shared the editing responsibility more in my past projects, but what is done is done. When I went to edit my music I got confused by the editing tools presented to me and found it almost impossible to navigate. I decided before trying to brute force my way through it, I should consult a guide first. I went to the YouTube tutorial provided by the FilmForth creators, but it didn't mention how to edit the music as I wanted. Next, I searched the FilmForth blog where several user questions were regularly answered. Reading through many articles and entries I found a couple touching on the subject I was looking for. These sources turned out to be extremely helpful in teaching me how to find and use the tools I was looking for. When I started editing the music I asked one of my reviewers, Nadia, to review my film a second time but focusing on the music. She agreed and from there gave me a couple more pointers on what to do. Now, I believe my film is truly ready to be submitted and seen. I may do some last minute edits and reviews to be absolutely sure, but that may be changes as minor as moving a text box a fourth of a second farther into a scene. All in all, I believe all major changes have been made and my film is as great as it will ever be.
