Plan C
Unfortunately, yet very fortunately, the current plans for the story of Chico's Revenge have gone through some major changes. This all began with a conversation I had with my mom about our film progress. While not well versed in film, my mom is great in common sense and helped me see that the current method wasn't working. For too many weekends, getting everyone together to film was becoming more and more impossible. As I complained about the time we were wasting, my mom suggested I get new actors. I explained to her it would set us back to far, she told me it was my project, so I needed to figure it out. With this motivation I began to think of how we could still film enough footage but with less availability of our actors. During this deep thought, my view wandered over to my dog Chico, napping on his bed. With one look at Chico, I knew what I could do to potentially save our progress. Instead of filming mostly with our actors, I could film mostly with my dog, who would always be available and happy to help. Of course, the downsides to this idea exist, as Chico isn't quite as good at taking acting directions and has a much shorter attention span. Not to mention, the entire plot would have to be rewritten to focus on Chico. But all of these drawbacks do not outweigh the benefit of consistent, guaranteed filming. Before coming to my film partner with my idea, I planned the story and pitched it to my mom to see if it would work as a quick movie. She said it was good, which I took in stride. I pitched the idea to Ariel, first explaining the lack of attendance in our actors and our subsequent lack of progress in filming. Then, I brought up Chico's incredible availability and my own ability to film him near daily. Ariel agreed with the idea, confiding that she had the same concerns but was personally lost on how to fix it. From here, we began to flesh out the new concept and discussed possible shots and a quick, simple storyboard. Most importantly, we chose to begin our new idea on our next filming date, Sunday.
